We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our School of Education, which has a long and proud history in education, childhood and teacher training and a reputation for outstanding graduates. You will play a pivotal role in our new MSc in Psychology with Education programme.
The MSc Psychology in Education award, located in the School of Education, is an innovative programme aimed at providing a comprehensive understanding of psychological principles within educational contexts. Designed as a conversion course, we are working towards British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation, ensuring that graduates meet the standards for professional recognition in psychology. This course explores various psychological perspectives on learning and development, preparing students for careers in educational psychology, teaching, and related fields. It examines the cognitive, emotional, and social aspects of education, with a focus on the psychological factors influencing learners of all ages. Students are encouraged to consider the broader socio-economic and political influences on education, and the programme offers a robust theoretical grounding in the disciplines of psychology and education.

You will have:
- A doctoral degree is required, demonstrating expertise in the discipline of cognitive and/ or biological psychology.
- Experience in Higher Education: Proven experience in teaching at the university level, particularly in psychology and education-related programmes.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to effectively convey complex psychological concepts to students and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
- Commitment to Student Engagement: Proven ability to inspire and support students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Teamwork and Leadership Skills: Ability to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and lead academic programmes and modules, particularly in the development and delivery of the MSc Psychology in Education course.
- Commitment to Professional Development: A proactive approach to continuing professional development, ensuring up-to-date knowledge in the fields of psychology and education.
