Liverpool John Moores University have been awarded funding to support and collaborate with Liverpool City Council to further knowledge and practice within the field of Construction Environmental Impact, to strive for Net Zero site construction and enhance the City of Liverpool and its economy.

LJMU supports the design of buildings and structures by quantifying potential waste and incorporating biomaterials using locally available resources, leveraging its expertise in engineering characterisation of construction materials, on-site and lab-based testing, computational modelling, and project sustainability evaluation with carbon tools.

You will be self-motivated with a proven track record on engineering knowledge on building and infrastructure development needs aligned with SDGs and experienced on working in a team environment, able to raise the profile and promoting the activities of the project.

You will also contribute to the creation of a simple guide for developers on alternative construction materials, detailing their impact on industry standards and provide a tool to quantify benefits, costs, and carbon savings to support public and private sector decisions.

The role provides the unique opportunity to work with a driven and hardworking research team within the University, along with researchers from the Schools of Civil Engineering and Built Environment. You will be self-motivated, highly results-oriented individual with a proven track record of achieving ambitious goals and exceeding expectations in a relevant discipline.
