Line managed by the central Student Advice and Wellbeing department, the team are required to work within Faculties/Academic schools, triaging concerns and managing a caseload of students. The team work collaboratively with the range of teams in Student Advice and Wellbeing, particularly the Counselling Team and Mental Health Advisor, to identify the most appropriate form of support for students.
Working across the University, the team work closely with academic colleagues to respond to concerns and to ensure students are aware of the services available to them. The team offer a range of workshops and interventions to support our diverse student population.
You will have a degree or equivalent IAG qualification. In addition, experience of working in an advice and guidance role and an understanding of the current issues that affect students in Higher Education, in particular around mental health, is essential. You should be highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative.
As the key focus of this role is to work directly with students, there is an expectation that this service is delivered during key periods of student activity and therefore annual leave or flexible working is limited during term time. This may coincide with certain school holiday periods.
