What we’re looking for
We are seeking to appoint one academic colleague in Quantity Surveying, with the appointment made at either Senior Lecturer or Senior Teaching Fellow level depending on the experience and profile of the successful candidate. The post sits within the School of Engineering and Built Environment and will play a key role in delivering high-quality, professionally informed education across our Quantity Surveying programmes.
The successful applicant will contribute to teaching in core QS areas such as measurement, cost planning, procurement and contract administration, ensuring that learning is relevant, engaging and aligned with contemporary industry practice. We are looking for someone who brings strong technical understanding, a commitment to student-centred learning and an enthusiasm for working collaboratively within a dynamic and supportive team.
The role also offers opportunities to contribute to wider School initiatives including programme enhancement, accreditation activity, industry engagement and the integration of digital and emerging practices into the curriculum.
Applicants must hold an honours or postgraduate degree specifically in Quantity Surveying or Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management. A PhD or equivalent qualification is desirable, or substantial professional/industry experience at an appropriate level. We are seeking a QS specialist rather than applicants from related but non-QS disciplines. Professional body membership (RICS or CIOB) or clear eligibility is also expected.
