The School of Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University is seeking to recruit a or Senior Lecturer (Grade 8) £45,585 - £56,021 per annum or Reader (Grade 9) £57,696 - £ £64,914 per annum to support its activities in the areas of Marine and Offshore Engineering, Offshore Renewables and Maritime Decarbonisation.

The school has a strong track record of research in this field and the successful candidate will join Liverpool Logistics, Offshore and Marine Research Institute (LOOM). This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced academic to join a well-established research group and to further develop their research profile.  

We wish to appoint an individual who has a track record of securing external funding, collaborating within research teams and creating impactful research outputs. We are seeking a candidate who also has a track record in delivering an outstanding teaching and learning experience to students.

You will be committed to furthering the goals of the School of Engineering and LJMU. You will:

  • Place student experience at the heart of their academic practice.
  • Embed their scholarship in the classroom through research informed teaching practices.
  • Take a proactive role in the development of bids for external funding for research and innovation projects.
  • Generate high quality, impactful outputs from their research.
  • Contribute to the broader academic activities of the school, supporting curriculum enrichment, recruitment, and outreach.
