You will be appointed as a Senior Lecturer in Secondary Art and Design, with a second subject specialism an advantage.

The School of Education at LJMU, is renowned for the quality and strength of its undergraduate and postgraduate curricula, along with a growing reputation for international partnerships and collaborative research. Student numbers on QTS programmes total between 500-600 per year. Student experience is at the heart of everything we do. The role of Senior Lecturer involves being an integral part of the team ensuring provision is to a high-standard and compliant with DfE and Office for Students (OfS) requirements.  You will lead on the planning, design and development of modules and curriculum (including adaptions resulting from DfE mandated frameworks) to deliver a range of high-quality teaching materials and associated student assessment activities. As a subject specialist in Art and Design, you will also have programme management and curriculum leadership responsibilities, including support to partnership schools and supervision of practice-based learning for students.

You will hold a relevant undergraduate degree with QTS, or PGCE (QTS) with a track record of successful Art and Design teaching in a Secondary school and preferably a second subject specialism, along with experience at teaching undergraduate level and above - or delivering equivalent relevant professional training and development. You will also hold a PhD or other equivalent qualification, or appropriate level of experience, suitable to the discipline. We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrable ability to operate effectively in a demanding environment, which has both academic and professional practice requirements and compliance demands, including internal and external auditing and inspection.
