Research Degrees Admissions and Student Record Assistant (Fixed term)

The Doctoral Academy is a professional service team dedicated to supporting postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and supervisors across the university from the point of admission through to final completion of the award. We work in partnership with schools, faculties and other professional services teams to harmonise the quality of the PGR experience across the university.
Applications are invited for a fixed term, full-time post of Research Degrees Admissions and Student Record Assistant in the Doctoral Academy. The post holder will will support the applicant journey from the point of enquiry through to the enrolment of postgraduate research students using the relevant university systems.
We are looking for someone who is customer service driven and can communicate effectively and clearly with individuals from diverse backgrounds. This role will involve engaging primarily with applicants and internal stakeholders including academic staff and professional services teams. Good organisational skills and the ability to use information systems is essential. You will be expected to be able to work well independently using your own initiative.
You should be confident in navigating new processes and systems and be able to problem solve. There will also be an opportunity to contribute to process improvement as we ensure that we deliver a high quality, connected and seamless service to new postgraduate researchers.
You will have administrative experience in a team environment and experience of generation and collation of data. The ability to work on your own initiative with track record of ability to make decisions in own area of responsibility is essential and you must have excellent IT skills and competence in Microsoft Office suite and ability to use Databases.
You will be required to work closely with other team members within the department but also to work/act on your own initiative.
You will be required to be in the office a minimum of 3 days per week.
