Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Cosmology - 3 years fixed term
Based in the Astrophysics Research Institute of Liverpool John Moores University, you will work on an ERC funded project. The aim of this project is to develop realistic large-scale cosmological hydrodynamical simulations, in the context of the standard model of cosmology and beyond, to prepare for the next generation of large-scale structure (LSS) surveys, such as LSST and Euclid. A major part of the effort will be to develop efficient and accurate emulators for a wide range of LSS observables, such as cosmic shear, the Sunyaev-Zel’dovich effect, CMB lensing, redshift space distortions, galaxy clustering etc
You should have a PhD in astronomy/astrophysics or a closely related field by the starting date. We seek candidates from a wide variety of fields, including applicants with expertise in (but not limited to): cosmological simulations; theoretical cosmology; astroparticle physics; astrostatistics; gravitational lensing; and observational analysis of large cosmological datasets (e.g., clustering, shear, X-ray/SZ).
