At the forefront of innovation in sport and exercise sciences since 1975, the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences is proud to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2025. Over the past five decades, we’ve grown from the world’s first sports science degree to a leading institution for teaching, research, and engagement across multiple disciplines, having been ranked 1^st in the North West for Sports Science in the QS World University Rankings 2025.

What we’re looking for

Are you passionate about shaping the next generation of sport scientists? We’re looking for an enthusiastic educator to bring energy, expertise, and innovation to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality teaching that blends cutting-edge research with real-world practice. Your background in applied sport science - particularly performance analysis and its application to football (across all codes), will help students thrive in a dynamic learning environment.

You’ll champion experiential learning, including our Sandwich Year, and play a key role in developing and overseeing placement opportunities with leading sports organisations and teams. Beyond teaching, you’ll contribute to curriculum development, introduce fresh ideas, and support initiatives that boost student engagement, employability, and overall satisfaction.

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. Working alongside colleagues and external partners, you’ll engage in impactful research and knowledge exchange activities that shape professional practice and influence policy.
