About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Campus Support Supervisor (Security) to join the Campus Support Team within Campus Services at Liverpool John Moores University.
The team provides 24/7 security and out of hours services to a range of campus areas spread across the city of Liverpool. Your primary role will be to provide visible, effective operational leadership to the security team across the shift, ensuring a safe, secure and customer-focused campus in which to study, work and visit.
You will take responsibility for supervising security staff, managing service standards, driving continuous improvement and providing operational leadership outside of normal working hours. You will also oversee incident management, ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and lead on cross-team initiatives that keep the campus safe and well-served.
You will work a continental rotating 12-hour shift pattern, 4 shifts on, 4 shifts off, alternating between day and night. A full UK driving licence (maximum of 3 penalty points) is essential for this role. You will also be required to demonstrate flexibility and respond to variations in business needs in support of colleagues and customers.
About You
As Campus Support Supervisor (Security) you will have experience in a leadership position within a customer service or front of house environment, ideally within security or facilities. You will be people-focused and must be able to communicate effectively, demonstrating emotional intelligence and empathy in everything you do.
A positive, proactive and flexible approach to different tasks and situations is essential. You will be confident leading a team, managing performance and driving service improvement across shifts. You will understand the bigger picture and be able to convey the intent and vision of the service, acting as an ambassador for the department and the University at all times.
You will need a sound understanding of health and safety and legislative compliance, experience producing accurate reports for a range of audiences and confidence using modern security systems including CCTV, access control and incident reporting platforms.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. You do not need a traditional security CV. What matters is that you can demonstrate the right leadership skills, values and commitment to delivering an excellent service for our students, staff and visitors.
In return, we offer an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme, induction and development support as well as family-friendly policies.
