Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is seeking an experienced, innovative, and strategic leader for the role of Head of Academic Success within our Library Services team. This senior position offers an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the development of academic support services based within The Library that enhance student learning and success.
You will lead a dedicated team responsible for delivering high-quality support in information and digital literacy, academic skills development, and the ongoing enhancement of our library resources — both physical and digital. Working in close collaboration with colleagues across the institution, you will help ensure our academic support services remain relevant, effective, and impactful. You will have a solid grasp of educational technologies, hybrid learning environments, and inclusive pedagogical practices that support a diverse student body.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic professional who brings:
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective partnerships.
- Significant experience in delivering academic support or educational development within higher education.
- A strong understanding of library services, including collection development and digital learning resources.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- A proactive, collaborative leadership approach with a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
- A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Library and Information Science, Education).
