Associate Dean, Research and Knowledge Exchange (0.6fte) Fixed term

The Associate Dean, Research and Knowledge Exchange, will hold a critical leadership role within the faculty, providing support and leadership in relation to the delivery of the University’s Strategy 2030 and the LJMU Research and Knowledge Exchange Plan 2030. A key purpose of this role will be to promote and coordinate research and knowledge exchange activity within the faculty and contribute to activities across the university.
As a member of the Faculty Management Team (FMT) you will work collegiately to develop an active research and knowledge exchange culture and environment that fosters inclusivity in research and knowledge exchange activity and encourages originality and innovation, collaboration and partnership, world-leading/internationally recognised outputs and enriches the student learning experience.
Reporting to the Faculty PVC and working closely with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research and Knowledge Exchange, you will ensure the strongest possible submissions to the Knowledge Exchange Framework and identify research and knowledge exchange funding and/or development opportunities, as well as evolving strategies to significantly grow faculty research and knowledge exchange reach and income.
The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in developing appropriate strategies and policies to enable the faculty to recruit and retain excellent academics, along with a demonstrable record of research and knowledge exchange activity and proven experience of supporting and leading REF, KEF and other university wide research and knowledge exchange initiatives.
You should have a clear vision for this role and experience of promoting research and knowledge exchange across the faculty, alongside experience of working with key external bodies and stakeholders.
