Fixed term to 31st July 2028, 0.6fte

The Associate Dean, Education and Student Experience, will hold a critical leadership role within the faculty, providing support and leadership in relation to the delivery of the University’s Strategy 2030 and the Education and Student Experience Plan.

As a member of the Faculty Management Team (FMT) you will make an active contribution to the university’s corporate goals including the outcomes set out in the Education and Student Experience Plan (ESEP) and support the priorities for the faculty and individual schools in relation to ESEP, APP and TEF.

Reporting to the Faculty PVC and working closely with the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Education and Student Experience, you will work with faculty leaders to support the delivery of innovation, inter-disciplinarity and collaboration in teaching, learning, assessment, and curriculum development across the faculty.

A prime focus of this role will be to facilitate non-curricular student experience and engagement, encouraging deeper student engagement in enhancement of the wider student experience and in doing so, develop strong relationships with the officers and staff of the Student Union (JMSU).

You must demonstrate a track record of outstanding leadership and achievement as well as a clear vision for the role. You will have a strong academic track record and have demonstrated an ability to innovate and achieve agreed outcomes.  You must have proven experience of working and liaising with key external bodies, for example the Office for Students, Ofsted and AdvanceHE and of championing excellence in teaching, learning, assessment, and the adoption of good practice. 

You also require an in depth understanding of quality assurance and enhancement processes as well as detailed knowledge of TEF, APP and OfS requirements and Conditions of Registration.
