The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion (ADDI) plays a key leadership role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment within the university.  The ADDI will lead initiatives that address local diversity, and inclusion needs while aligning with the university’s broader Diversity and Inclusion priorities and action plan.

As a member of the Faculty Management Team (FMT) you will work closely with the Associate Director Diversity and Inclusion, the Faculty PVC, School Directors and other key stakeholders across the university to lead on the Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) activities within your respective area.  This is a strategic and influential role focused on driving change and delivering measurable results, including developing and implementing a D&I plan for the faculty that aligns with and supports the overarching university inclusivity plan.

Reporting to the Faculty PVC, you will serve as a champion for inclusive culture, embedding inclusivity into faculty policies, practices and academic provisions and engage with students, staff, and external partners to foster a shared responsibility for advancing D&I.

The successful candidate must have the ability to develop and communicate a clear vision for D&I within the faculty and contribute to university-wide D&I strategies, alongside an understanding of issues affecting underrepresented groups, with the ability to navigate sensitivities associated with protected characteristics.

You should have a clear vision for this role, underpinned by your in-depth knowledge of D&I legislation and the practical applications as well as detailed knowledge of the D&I agenda within the Higher Education context.
